Eco-Chic Jakarta 7pm, Monday 3rd March, 2008
The Four Seasons Ballroom for the Gala Dinner for UBS.
Background information
‘Eco-Chic’ will offer 150 exclusive UBS guests an evening of intellectual intoxication as grit collides with glamour in a fashion show with an eco-twist reinforcing the need to recycle, reuse and reduce to limit the impact of climate change.
The exclusive guests, from Indonesian wealth management and private banking sectors to local and international investors, will be entertained by this dramatic fashion show. In the spotlight will be the most enticing, glamorous and spectacular evening gowns and suits to creative and resourceful recycled masterpieces made from famous Indonesian and Hong Kong fashion designers and stylists.
In a grand ballroom decorated with rainforest plants, drapes and low-level seating, the room will burst into a different kind of life as the beauty of the rainforest room is contrasted with the reality of wasted materials, as dresses made from car tires, plastic, tin foil and wood chips glide down the catwalk on top of a green-grass runway. Stunning models will woo guests not just visually but also with music too, as each dress will be accompanied by music matching the mood of the dress. The MC will introduce each dress, the designer, material and reason for their inspiration, which will also be summarized on a small leaflet given to each guest.
After the show, the dresses and their designers will be invited to mingle with the guests and to allow the guests to take a closer look and for further photographic opportunities.
Media
We will have an open media call at 5.30pm on 3rd March and a full dress rehearsal at 6pm. The exact times may vary slightly. This will be comprised firstly of a press briefing, during which time there will be a talk about Eco-Chic, about the designers and about UBS’ involvement. The media will then move into the main ballroom for the full dress rehearsal, followed by time to interview the designers.
We will be inviting a full range of media, including Dewi, Bazaar, Cosmopolitan, Femina, Esquire, Tatler, SWA, Gatra, Bisnis Indonesia, Investor and Metro TV, as well as e-releases to textile companies such as Cotton Inc and Lenzing. We are attempting Fashion TV to cover the event, with the connection from Ika.
Afterwards, the fashion show itself for UBS will be a closed and private affair, and therefore all media and photographs for the media will be taken before the guests arrive at 7pm.
